Hardly any other city of the Weserbergland impresses with so many sights like Bückeburg: the castle and the mausoleum in the cultivated palace garden, the presentations of the princely riding school, the church in the style of the weser renaissance, the geography and history museum as well as helicopter museum which is unique in Europe.
The castle Bückeburg has always been the residence of the prince's family to Schaumburg-Lippe. An almost millennial history reflects the earls of Schaumburg-Lippe which later became the princes to Schaumburg-Lippe. In the princely riding school you can experience fascinating horsemanship, presented by internationally successful artists on the nicest stallions of the world.
When prince Ernst zu Schaumburg-Lippe said that Bückeburg would be his royal seat, he ordered to build the city church which till this day dominates the image of the pedestrian precinct.
The helicopter museum is a special centre of attraction. The development of the vertical aircraft engineering is shown in a unique diversity with models and more than 40 original helicopters.
