Bad Oeynhausen has a quite special museum: the fairy tale museum was founded in the 1973 by the Dr. Karl Paetow foundation, and is located in one of the nicest early day’s villas in Bad Oeynhausen. Beside a long-term exhibition, there are change exhibits in the museum, for example fairy tale-silhouettes and a library about fairytales with more than 13,000 volumes.
Open-air Culture: The small open-air museum which opened in 1969 presents rural cultural monuments which are typical for the Minden-Ravensberger area: farmyard with main house, Heuerlinghaus, barn, store house, baking house, mill and farm garden. The buildings were moved from the surroundings of Bad Oeynhausen to the museum.
